A Fiesta in Florida

The boy and his mother spent the weekend in Florida with Maga. It was Aunt Sissy's birthday, as well as cousin Nolan's. Poor Nolan was sick the whole time, so the party was family-only. He seemed to enjoy it, nonetheless. He and Aunt Sissy got to share a cakeReaching for his first taste

In addition to the party, Maga, the boy and his mother had an opportunity to have some adventures on their own. On Saturday, we all went to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. Here are some highlights.
One of the first things we saw was this lovely bird. Then we ran into this guy. He's a bearded pig. He's also ugly.
Then came the Rhinos. This (not so) little lady doesn't look as though she feels very well.Outside the Komodo Dragon Enclosure Inside the Komodo Dragon Enclosure The Orang's were just waking up for the morning This guy didn't seem too thrilled to have visitors first thing Saturday morning. On our way to the carousel, we ran into this guy. I'm pretty sure he wasn't a member of the zoo family, but the boy seemed to think he was pretty cool. Especially when this happened. We made it around to the carousel, and at first things seemed fine. Then the boy got a little scared, so we rode like this the rest of the time. After the carousel, we saw the zebras (or at least the biggest part of them). An elephant family And some giraffes
Which we got to FEED. That was probably the highlight of our day.

We also spent some time hanging out at Boo's house, where the boy got to throw the ball.
He's got quite the arm, this one....
He also almost caught it a couple of times.
Mostly he just looked cute.
The hotel we stayed at had a pool, of which we took great advantage.
All-in-all it was a lovely weekend.

But, we're glad to be home.
